Minstrels of Middle Earth

Band Leaders: Please give us some details so that we can promote your performance! Does your band perform regularly? Have you performed at Weatherstock before? Please supply details here.:
Tinfaang is the leader and concert director of our band, the Minstrels of Middle Earth. We do not perform regularly throughout the year, but are known for playing especially during festivals to provide musical and theatrical entertainment and ambiance for passersby engaged in the festivities - and also having the means and wherewithal, known only to us, to do so continuously for days each time (and regardless of the severity of lag withal).

Our performances usually feature classical music and are typically period and roleplay appropriate. Some may remember our signature concert, the 'Songs of the Third Age', where, interspersed with roleplay and acting, most of the songs and poetry in the Lord of the Rings books were also featured and set to music over a three and a half hour concert.

We have not performed at Weatherstock before. But we have planned a special Nazgul-themed concert at Weatherstock, should we be selected to play at the summit. We desire to keep it a surprise how the Nazgul will feature in our concert, but our performance will contain elements of acting, theatrics and of course epic music from the movies and some other surprises. We have already rehearsed our concert program and have timed its duration at close to fourteen minutes and forty seconds, which fits the allotted time given for each band.

We believe our performance will be most apropos for the locale and occasion given the famed account of the Skirmish on Weathertop between the Hobbits and the Nazgul as recounted in the Fellowship of the Ring. Furthermore, as this event is Weatherstock XIII, the number thirteen has ominous and foreboding connotations which, by serendipity, also fits our Nazgul-themed performance. Therefore, we humbly submit our concert piece for consideration by the Weatherstock organizers for performance at the Weatherstock summit.

Each band will be responsible for Checking This Site REGULARLY for News and Updates. Bandleaders agree to log-in on Landroval weekly to check in-game mail prior to the event.

Bands can play at the WCS only, at the Summit only, or at both venues. Summit participation will be limited to 20 bands this year.

::: Weatherstock Concert Series (WCS) Info :::

The Weatherstock Concert Series is a series of back-to-back concerts to be held on July 10-11. These are 30-minute concerts held at Bree Festival Grounds.

Playing in the Weatherstock Concert Series (WCS) is *NOT* required for playing at the Summit. This is an opportunity for bands to showcase their talents.

Band Leaders: You agree to perform a 30-minute slot at the Weatherstock Concert Series (WCS) on Sat/Sun July 10/11.:

Band Leaders: Select TWO (or more) possible times for your 30-minute WCS show. PLEASE SELECT AT LEAST TWO SLOTS ::: One 30-minute set will be assigned within these blocks. Hold CTRL and click on the dates to select more than one.:

Note: All WCS shows will be held at Bree Festival Grounds Stage.

Note: Due to the time commitment involved, LMB cannot guarantee the video recording of all WCS shows. If your Band wishes their WCS show to be recorded, please provide your own recorder. Volunteers are also welcome to record the WCS.

::: Weatherstock Summit Selection :::

We will attempt to schedule all bands at the Summit on Saturday July 17. If we have more than 20 bands to accommodate, we will randomly select 20 bands for the Summit.

The number of slots for the summit event is limited to 20 bands. Sets will be 15-minutes each at the summit, starting at 12:30 pm and ending at 5:30 pm (EDT /servertime).

Please remember: Weatherstock is a friendly opportunity to showcase musical talents among peers.

Band Leaders: You agree to perform at the Summit (Weatherstock) on Saturday July 17 between 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm EDT /serverttime.:

Multi-boxing: While not prohibited, please be aware that lag can be severe at the summit of Weathertop during the event, so use multi-boxing at your own risk! The show must go on.
