What is your role in Weatherstock?:

The Rolling Kegs

Band Leaders: Have you performed in public as a band before? Does your band perform regularly? Have you performed at Weatherstock before? Please supply details here.:
First, I am applying on behalf of our bandleader Kandral, that is on sick leave. The Rolling kegs played at Weatherstock last year, and at Shirefest 2014. The band has then been rekindled under new leadership and we launched our own concert "Rolling with the winter wonderkegs" around last X-mas. We also performed at "The forge day" celebrations this year. Performances have been few during 2015 due to the issues with the music system. Therefor most of our work this year has been centered around writing songs and reworking old ones. But the Kegs is an old and well established band.

Weatherstock Band Application Section (only Band Leaders should fill this out):

Band Registration: Band Registration opens on Monday May 18th and closes on Sunday May 31st.

FYI: Each band will be paired with a "Roadie" from our Event Staff to ensure that all bands are ready for Weatherstock. Be sure to direct questions to your Roadie, and to answer questions promptly

Note: Weatherstock is a competition. Winners will be determined at the summit following the show. One prize will be awarded via an internet vote of all attendees, a second prize will be awarded via an internal vote of LMB members.

There will be no voting-with-feet and no voting-with-hope-tokens this year.

New this year: Band selection for the competition will occur *AFTER* all the Weatherstock Concert Series shows are completed. Only competing bands will play in the WCS, non-competing bands will have a separate show.

New this year: Playing in the Weatherstock Concert Series *IS* required for the competition. This is an opportunity for bands to showcase their talents for the judges to select them.

Competition Band Selection: There are 10 slots for Weatherstock, to be chosen by weighted lottery. Each band gets 1 ticket for applying. Each LMB Officer may give 1 ticket to a band of their choice. The 10 bands are selected randomly from this pool.

The Rolling Kegs is a pure dwarven style band with dwarves playing all the intruments and singing all the songs. Our aim is to mirror dwarven lore and everyday life in our lyrics. Thus our songs could tell the tale of Durin the Deathless, Khazad dum or Mahal, father of the dwarves. Or we can sing about simple tings, like a dwarves love for his goat or an all inspiring drinking song. Our song styles my vary but we never stray from our theme.
